When someone needs a new water filter for their refrigerator there are some questions that arise:
1. What type of water filter do I need?
2. Where is the filter located?
3. Where do I go to buy the filter?
4. How often should I replace it?
I'll try to answer some of these questions. There are many types of refrigerator designs, which take different types of filters. One filter does not fit all appliances. Your first step is to get the model number for your refrigerator. On most modern refrigerators, a decal is located inside the fresh-food section. The decal should have the model and serial number on it. Note the model number. A store rep will need this information to look up the proper water filter.
Water filters can be located in the toe-kick panel. This design is simple to remove and install. Rotate the filter counterclockwise to remove it. You don't have to turn off the water, since there is a valve that seals out the water. The new filter installs in the reverse order. You will find this type of water filter in refrigerators such as Whirlpool, Kenmore, and GE.
Another type of filter is located inside the fresh-food section. Usually on the upper right hand side of refrigerator. The same installation is advised, rotate counterclockwise to remove. I hope this helps and most filter can be purchased at our Refrigerator Water Filter Store.
Filters should be replaced every 6 months.
