When someone needs a new water filter for their refrigerator there are some questions that arise:
1. What type of water filter do I need?
2. Where is the filter located?
3. Where do I go to buy the filter?
4. How often should I replace it?
I'll try to answer some of these questions. There are many types of refrigerator designs, which take different types of filters. One filter does not fit all appliances. Your first step is to get the model number for your refrigerator. On most modern refrigerators, a decal is located inside the fresh-food section. The decal should have the model and serial number on it. Note the model number. A store rep will need this information to look up the proper water filter.
Water filters can be located in the toe-kick panel. This design is simple to remove and install. Rotate the filter counterclockwise to remove it. You don't have to turn off the water, since there is a valve that seals out the water. The new filter installs in the reverse order. You will find this type of water filter in refrigerators such as Whirlpool, Kenmore, and GE.
Another type of filter is located inside the fresh-food section. Usually on the upper right hand side of refrigerator. The same installation is advised, rotate counterclockwise to remove. I hope this helps and most filter can be purchased at our Refrigerator Water Filter Store.
Filters should be replaced every 6 months.

Appliance Repair - Washer Motor Coupler
When your
motor coupler goes bad on your washing machine, it will no longer spin or agitate. You will hear what
sounds like chains being dragged on the floor when it's in spin or agitate mode.
As the owner of a appliance repair business, I'm going to give you some free tips on how to replace this motor coupler yourself and save money in the process.
First things first, let's disconnect power to the unit!
As the owner of a appliance repair business, I'm going to give you some free tips on how to replace this motor coupler yourself and save money in the process.
First things first, let's disconnect power to the unit!
Remove Washer Control Panel
Once we have power disconnected to the unit we want to rotate the control panel upwards to access the cabinet clamps. Most direct-drive washers have two screws on the back of the control panel, one on each far end, pointing downwards. You will have to look closely to find them. A flashlight and Phillips-head screwdriver will help.
Remove the two screws all the way without dropping them in the back of washer. Gently pull the front of the panel forward and rotate the front side of panel upwards. Rotate panel all the way backwards and lean against the wall.
Remove Washer Cabinet Clamps
Disconnect Washer Lid Switch
Disconnect the lid switch.
Now, open the washer lid and grab the inside of the cabinet firmly.
Put your toes against the outside bottom of cabinet to hold the bottom stationary.
By pulling your hand towards you, the one holding the inside oft the cabinet, pivot the cabinet towards you while at the same time holding the bottom stationary with your toes.
Now move your toes out of the way and slide the whole cabinet toward you and remove.
Remove Washer Pump and Motor
This is the easy part, please don't be intimidated. Remove the pump by releasing the two clamps with a screwdriver.
Do the same thing with the motor except you will have to remove the two hex screws on the clamps.
Pull the motor connector off. Rotate the motor to the right and set aside. Note: Don't touch the capacitor leads with your bare fingers. You may get shocked :->
Once the motor is removed, you will see the coupler. Remove it with a pair of pliers, install the new one, and re assemble in reverse order.
Congratulations! You have just completed your first Boise appliance repair.

Frigidaire Washer Pump Replacement
Folks, I try to write some appliance repair procedures to help homeowners save money and do the work themselves. While on a repair job in Boise I decided to take some pictures so I may write a procedure on how to replace a Frigidaire washing-machine drain pump. The procedure itself has pictures to help you along the way. How difficult is this to complete on your own? Well, that depends. I would say that someone who has never did this before, may want to set aside 3 hours. For someone who has never repair an appliance, I wouldn't say that it would be a difficult job. A little patience and attention to detail is all that's needed.
I had my neighbor review the drain pump replacement procedure and go over it in detail with his front-load washing machine. It took him an hour and a half and he gave me some feedback on how nice it was to have the pictures.
